Barrco engages in a variety of activities, broadly categorized into project development, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M). We develop, build, and operate solar power plants, whether on rooftops or large-scale ground-mounted facilities. We play a crucial role in the energy transition by providing renewable electricity and often integrating solar projects with other activities like agriculture.
This involves identifying suitable sites, conducting feasibility studies (including land, technical, and environmental assessments), securing necessary permits and licenses, and arranging financing.
This encompasses the detailed design of the solar power plant, sourcing all necessary components (solar panels, inverters, etc.), and managing the construction process to ensure the project is built according to specifications.
Once the solar power plant is operational, companies are responsible for maintaining the equipment, ensuring optimal performance, and managing any issues that may arise.
This involves integrating solar power generation with agricultural activities, such as using the same land for both crop production and solar panel installation.
Solar companies often seek funding through various mechanisms, including loans, equity investments, and government incentives, to support project development and construction.
Some companies focus on analyzing solar energy policies, market trends, and grid integration possibilities to identify opportunities and navigate regulatory landscapes.
Many companies are involved in research and development to improve solar technologies, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
Project development (Phase duration: 1 to 2 years)
We undertake the search for sites and secure suitable areas by concluding lease agreements. We interact with local authorities and undertake all stages, from the land management procedure to expert opinions and approvals. This also includes the assessment of the impact of the solar power plant on the environment, technical planning and provision of connection.
Investment Management (Phase duration: 1 to 3 months)
Benefit from our experience in the field of operational costs (profitability calculations) of solar power plants! We check how economically viable your project is. To do this, we assess risks and deal with cost calculations and financing. We calculate options and analyze which power plant project provides the highest benefit. Our goal: low operational costs, high profitability. Our investment management department estimates the cost of construction (EPC) at all stages of the project, controls development costs (architectural, etc.) and ensures a fixed electricity tariff.
Planning and realization – EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) (Phase duration: 2 to 6 months)
We prepare the implementation plan (engineering) and ensure the availability of the relevant components and services (procurement). As part of the engineering, we plan, for example, cost-effective cabling, optimal use of inverters and efficient orientation of photovoltaic modules. We then build the solar power plant (construction), commission it and hand it over to the owner. Our project managers ensure that the solar power plant is built in accordance with technical safety requirements.
Technical management – O&M (Operation & Maintenance) (Phase duration: up to 30 years)
During the operation and maintenance phase, we ensure that the value of the solar park is preserved and optimize every detail to ensure stable performance. This includes remote monitoring for quick troubleshooting, regular data analysis, and additional services such as grass cutting to prevent shading of the modules. In addition, operational risks are minimized through reports and logs, as well as compliance with technical and legal requirements. This guarantees stable operation for decades.
